7 February 2010
Location: Geelong, Australia
Distances: Half Ironman (1.9km swim, 90.1km bike, 21.1km run)
Based 47 miles south of Melbourne you will find Geelong which for the past 2 years has hosted the only 70.3 Ironman in Australia. The scenery in the Australian state of Victoria needs no introduction, so tackling a 70.3 in the shadows of Corio Bay and the Barwon River has become one of the most sought after experiences for any keen triathlete.
The 70.3 is a test in itself but it can also act as a useful stepping stone for those thinking about taking on their first full Ironman. If you are growing a little tired of Olympic distance triathlons then this is the perfect progression.
With the event being the only 70.3 Ironman in Australasia you can be assured that it will once again sell out so we would recommend registering as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
